Founded as a locally owned small business, BlueSeal Backflow is built on hands-on experience and a commitment to treating every customer like a priority.

Backflow testing has always been a part of my life. I gained years of experience working in my family’s backflow business, learning how to test and repair systems the right way. With that foundation, I started BlueSeal Backflow to serve the Lubbock community directly. Though this business is new, the knowledge and skill behind it are proven.
I launched BlueSeal Backflow with a simple mission: to make it easier and more affordable for property owners to stay compliant with city requirements. Unlike bigger companies that charge more, I keep pricing fair—$75 flat rate for testing, including both the inspection and the report submission to the City of Lubbock.

A backflow test checks the internal components of your backflow preventer to ensure that water flows in the correct direction and does not contaminate the city’s clean water supply.
In the City of Lubbock, the testing frequency depends on the type of backflow preventer:
- Double Check: Every 3 years (unless on a fire sprinkler system).
- Pressure Vacuum Breaker (PVB): Every 3 years.
- Spill-Resistant Vacuum Breaker (SVB): Every 3 years.
- Reduced Pressure Zone Assembly (RPZA): Every year.
If you’re unsure what type of backflow preventer you have, reach out and we’ll gladly help. The City of Lubbock will also send you a reminder letter when testing is due.
Depending on accessibility and condition, it can take anywhere from 5 minutes to 1 hour. No matter the condition of your device, we will ensure it gets tested properly.
It depends on the location of your backflow preventer. If it’s in your backyard and the gate is locked, you’ll need to be home. If it’s in the alley, you usually won’t. Some cases may require turning on the sprinkler system—if you’re not home, we can easily reschedule at a convenient time.
We will contact you immediately. Depending on the condition, repairs may include cleaning debris, replacing rubber parts, or replacing internal components. We always explain the options and costs before proceeding, and you decide how to move forward.
Yes. The $75 price includes the filing fee, and we always submit the report to the City of Lubbock. You’ll also receive a copy of the report for your records.
Yes. The city sends:
- A first notice at the beginning of the month.
- A reminder mid-month.
- A final notice (sticker on your door) at the end of the month if testing hasn’t been completed.
Yes — your backflow preventer is tied into the water supply whether you’re using your irrigation/domestic system or not. Stagnant water, pressure changes, or even a surprise city inspection can expose risks if the device hasn’t been tested. The city requires annual/tri-annual testing regardless of usage to ensure the entire public water system stays protected
